A new-found friend

I'm so thankful to the new technology for having more friends. The blogosphere and this blog has been an instrument of gaining new friends.I'm so glad I found a way to connect with Bisdakplanet and gained new friends...salamat mga bisdak!

Just recently,I wrote something about the GK movie,Paraiso and little did I know that it would be an instrument of meeting another friend in the blogosphere.Days after I posted about the movie,I had a visitor in my blog (Marjorie) and she found my blog coz she's surfing the net for reviews of the GK movie. She left an e-mail add and so I communicated with her and we exchange messages and basic info about our lives thru e-mails.She's also an SFC like me and she's working for Gawad Kalinga.

Just this morning,I received an e-mail from her and she gave me a link to her blog,Turning Pages.I immediately visited it and I spent hours reading all her entries. It was really very inspiring.I'm inspired about her stories and her conviction to be of service to GOD and to our dear country,Philippines.

Ate Marj, you're truly a writer and thanks a lot for the inspiration. For sure, one of the reason why I know her is to inspire me and help me make a decision about my service to GOD through GK.

Crying Ladies

Photo grabbed from netflix.com.

I watched “Crying Ladies” right after watching Shrek 3. It’s already an old filipino movie (2003) but I watched it coz I know it’s a nice one. I knew a lot of good movies, but don’t have the chance to watch them all because I don’t have enough money to go to the theater house, huhuhu.

The movie is really a good one and the story is not common and the actresses and actors are good. Here’s a summary of the movie courtesy of calendarlive.com :

An endearing comedy that deftly blends sentiment and grit and features a clutch of top Filipino stars, Mark Meily’s “Crying Ladies” centers on the lives of three friends coping with day-to-day life in one of Manila’s poorest neighborhoods. High-spirited and good-natured, “Crying Ladies” never loses touch with reality.

The key figure is the vivacious Stella (Sharon Cuneta), who is struggling to put her life together after serving a year in prison for a petty, undefined form of con artistry. Stella not only has lost her husband, Guido (Ricky Davao), who has happily remarried, but also custody of her 7-year-old son, Bong (Julio Pacheco).

Living in a hovel, she survives on whatever work she can find and seizes an opportunity to have five days’ work as a “crier” during the wakes preceding a traditional Chinese funeral as well as at the elaborate ceremony. She lines up as fellow criers her friends Doray (Hilda Koronel), a shopkeeper who was once a minor B-movie actress, perhaps no more than a bit player, and who dreams of a “comeback,” and Choleng (Angel Aquino), who works at an orphanage and is the naive, devout type but can’t resist having an affair with her best friend’s husband (Raymond Bagatsing). During this time Stella has managed to persuade her ex to let their son stay with her for three weeks before Guido moves Bong and his new wife to a distant city.

“Crying Ladies” is enriched by a strong subplot involving Wilson (Eric Quizon), the Chinese Filipino who has hired the women to cry for his late father in hopes that this will open the gates of heaven to him. Wilson is going through these traditional motions to please his mother (Sherry Lara), yet these days of mourning allow mother and son time to contemplate forgiving a husband and father who in fact had caused his family considerable grief. In the meantime Stella tries to show Bong a good time while pursuing her dream of singing and acting — and striving to put food on her table and keep a roof, no matter how flimsy, over her head.

Cuneta makes Stella highly appealing, an impetuous woman who makes mistakes, understands full well how steep a price she sometimes has to pay as a result, but remains determined to be upbeat and undefeated. She’s scrappy and resilient, and her wide range of street-smart tactics to save a peso and scrape by are a source of much affectionate humor.

Koronel and Aquino also are engagingly amusing in their own foibles. In his assured feature directorial debut, Meily understands that a comedy that deals compassionately with loss also needs to end on a positive note yet wisely doesn’t overdo it. The dreams that come true at the fade for Stella and her friends are modest. As women who have learned to live in the moment, they instinctively sense that nothing lasts forever.

Shrek 3

(Photo grabbed from lovefilm.dk)

Finally,I’m done watching Shrek 3,just this afternoon.I’m suppose to watch it last week before my trip to Denmark, but I didn’t have enough time for it. I’m not that busy at my employer’s place today,so I took my lappy to their place and watched movies while waiting for the laundry to be done.(Photo grabbed from www.lovefilm.dk).

I really enjoyed the movie and been laughing alone, hehehe and I’m really touched by Shrek’s kindness….willing to die just to save his love ones and friends. The movie has conveyed once again that “what matters most is the inner beauty of a person and not the physical appearance”.

Chromosome 6

Chromosome 6 is a novel by Robin Cook and it’s the recent novel I had read.I was done reading it almost 2 weeks ago,but forgot to post it here. The story was just very nice that I kept on reading even in my friend’s place, when I’m suppose to mingle and have a good chat with my friends. But I sneaked to the kitchen a lot of times to continue reading the novel, coz I can’t concentrate when they’re talking very loud, hehehe.

(Photo grabbed from fantasticfiction.co.uk). The story is all about the latest technology about cloning and liver transplant that goes beyond the medical ethics. Dr. Kevin Marshall discovered the possibility of transferring the human genes located in chromosome 6 to a species called Bonobo, a cousin of Chimpanzee. The story gets very exciting when Dr. Marshall found out that he has created a protohuman due to the tranfer of chromosome 6 to the Bonobos. He was able to face his Bonobo double and it was like seeing himself 5 million years ago. The Bonobo farm was kept secret by GenSys in a secluded area in Equatorial Guinea. And the dangerous operation was discovered by Jack Stapleton and Laurie Montgomery, forensic pathologists, as they stumble into Carlo Franconi’s case. One of the liver transplant patients who was shot accidentally.

It was really a very intersting novel, but I ask apology coz it’s difficult for me to narrate the story. I’m a good reader, but not a good story teller or narrator for that matter, hehehe.

Here’s a summary of the story from wikipedia.com:

Cook challenges the medical ethics of genetic manipulation and cloning. In the jungles of equatorial Africa, a biotechnology giant has taken transplant surgery and animal research to a new level. Where one mistake could bridge the evolutionary gap between man and ape–and forever change the genetic map of our existence.

Dr. Kevin Marshall worries that he has traded his ethics for a gleaming futuristic lab. Meanwhile, stateside, Dr. Jack Stapleton, a forensic pathologist, is deeply troubled by an unidentified body that is missing various parts. Jack and his colleague, Laurie, identify the corpse as that of a Mafia kingpin, and their investigation leads them to Africa. The Truth finders almost had to give their lives in order to know and escape from there.

Busy Tuesday

I was really busy yesterday, both in my employer's place and in the blogging world.I changed the beddings, did the laundry, vacuumed and then prepared chicken afritada for dinner. In my free time,I went down to my apartment to check my e-mails and start making entries for my blogs and I find it difficult to start making entries again.I don't know where to start,.

I was done at around 6pm and so I went down to my apartment.I prayed the Holy Rosary and decided to skip exercising to continue blogging,.Finally,I was able to make my entries and I also visited all my blogging friends to cover up for my absence in the blogging world for days.I went to bed at 1 in the morning and glad that I'm not that tired this morning.

My female employer went to Latvia for work just this morning and she'll be back this friday. The kids will go to their friends after school and they will be delivered in the house by the parents of their friends and I'll be looking after them because my male employer will attend some gathering tonight. I hope they will behave well tonight, but atleast I don't have to make dinner, hurrah!! and it will be a relaxed day for me...I just did some laundry and I'm right here blogging in my wmployer's house,.

I took the lappy here coz the internet connection here is very good and I'll watch movies in my lappy til the kids arrive at 6pm.

Have a nice day everyone!

Sunday : Dinner with my Hostfamily in DK

We agreed to wake up early on sunday to go to the "loppemarked", it's the name of the garage sale in DK and we all love it,hehehe. But unfortunately, we were not able to wake up early coz some had headache from lastnight's party, hehehe.

We went to 2 places for the loppemarked and we really had fun and as usual,we bought a lot of things and they got annoyed when I told them that I bought a yellow headband, hahaha. They're already irritated with my "yellow craziness".

After the loppemarked,I went home to my employer's place with Dymae and Analyn. We prepared dinner since my hostfamily will becoming after 6pm and we know that they're tired, so we decided to make some food. We prepared roasted chicken, pansit (their favorite) and some salad.

Before they arrived, we managed to take some pictures in their living room, hehehe.

With Dymae,my maternal first cousin.

With Analyn,my paternal first cousin.

I was so happy to see my female employer and the kid was so excited that she immediately hugged me. We had a nice dinner and my female employer didn't talk that long since she was very tired from the trip. However,Veronica was very active and right after eating, she dragged me to her room and we played there.I was exhausted coz I kept on carrying her (that's what we always do before) and to my amazement, I can no longer lift her just like before..She's already a lot heavier, but she still insisted that I carry her..huhhuhu.We made a lot of "circus stunts",hehehe, that's her term for all stuffs that we do.
Here's some of my photos with Veronica:

She just loves the camera and she kept on saying "igen" (which means again)to take more pictures. She's really a sweet child, though she's moody at times.

She even asked her Mom if she can sleep with me in the airbed. Her mother agreed, but she ended up sleeping in her own room because her Dad scolded her coz she kept on going out from the room where we supposed to sleep. She even asked me to read a bedtime story for her in Danish..wahhhhh and I granted her request, hehehe. But I'm not sure though if she understood what I read, hehhehe. My danish is deteriorating..huhuhu.

Analyn slept early. But Dymae and I had a long chitchat while she ws doing some cross stitch.

I really had fun during my weekend and I once again made a bonding with my cousins.

Saturday Party

Hurrah!!I had a great weekend in Denmark.Though the vacation was just short, but I had a great time with my cousins and friends.

As I mentioned before, I went to DK (short for Denmark) with my bestfriend and cousin Bhing and we call each other "Best". We took the bus at 10 in the evening on friday.I went early to the city to buy a gift for my hostfamily's daughter, Veronica (we are close and she's very excited that I'm coming)and she's used to receive gifts from me everytime I go to other places. I bought her a pencil case with the word "norway" in it.It's not that special though, but I'm glad coz she liked it.

Best brought some rice and we bought whole chicken,so we really wanted to go inside the bus and start eating, hehehe. And it's really funny coz Best brought disposable gloves too,so we won't be washing our hands anymore,heheh..smart idea..Just before 10pm,the bus arrived and we immediately went inside and started unpacking our food.We were ashamed at first coz maybe the other passengers will think that what we're doing was gross, but we really don't care coz we're sooo hungry...so we started eating despite the curious looks from other passengers..hehheh...The food was soo yummy...Too bad I can't share our photo with the gloves coz it's in my best camera.I'll just share it next time.

The trip to DK was for 8 hours and we were suffering from backaches because we were just sitting for the entire trip..grrrrrrr...but it's ok coz we're already used to it.Analyn's employer picked us up at the bus terminal and drove us to the airport to pick Analyn up.Analyn is my first cousin in my father side who will also work as an Au pair in DK.Too bad, the plane she flew with hasn't landed yet when we arrived and we waited for more than an hour before she finally went out from the sliding door.
We drove to his employer's place and she was toured unto her future working place. Then drove to my hostfamily's place afterwards. We also took some photos at the airport but it's also in Best's camera,so I'll share it to you next time.

My first cousin Dymae (the one who replaced me in my hostfamily in DK)had already prepared some food dor us...goody coz we're really starving. My female employer was not in the house because she went to some meeting in the countryside. The child attended a pajama party,so it was only my male employer who was home, but he was taking a shower when we arrived. So we were chitchatting in my cousin's room and I talked to my male employer and introduced my cousins. He left to pick up his daughter and we started eating brunch...And they came back right after our brunch,so I gave my present to Veronica and glad coz she liked it.And I was surprised coz she also gave me a present. It's really sweet and my cousin helped her make it.Here's the photo:

gift from Veronica (a necklace and 2 sets of earrings)

My male employer and Veronica drove to Jutland(fter our conversation) to join my female employer in her political activity there and they'll be back on sunday evening. So we decided to spend the night in one of our friends' place. It's the place where we usually spend our weekend. And we had a small gathering as a welcome party for my cousin.Analyn's employer gave us champagne and one of my cousins brought another bottle of champagne, so we emptied 2 bottles, hehehe. It was a party of seven. My best,Analyn,Dymae, Lisa (my cousin in my mother side), Yan2x (cousin in my father side),Ninia (Best's sister-in-law) and yours truly. We just stayed in Ninia's room, but we really had fun.She has her separate toilet and kitchen and her hostfamily are very nice and we are always welcome to stay and make noise there, hehehe.Everytime we have a party in that room, we always have a motif on what to wear.So that night, we decided to go "mini",hehehe. So we all wore mini skirts for the night courtesy of Ninia (whom we call Britney, coz she's really into fashion and she has a lot of clothes). But Analyn didn't go with the flow and told us that she'll just observe and she's happy that we're making an effort to welcome her.We really went crazy that night. We danced and we also had karaoke and of course...the champagne made us groggy..made them groggy coz I didn't drink a lot..I'm not suppose to drink at all but Best forced me too..hehehe.That was my first drinking session in 3 months..I have to keep it a secret from my Mama coz I violated the rules, hehehe.

The crazy girls, hehehe.Taken by Analyn.Wahhhhhh ako ang pinaka itom, hehehe

My cousins in my father side,Analyn and Yanyan.

A close up of yours truly, hehehe.

And after the "mini" motif, they switched to "male" motif, which they always do during their weekends when I'm already in Norway. They all dress and act like males with all the beard for fun, heheheh. But I choosed to remain on my "mini",hehhehe.

The crazy boys and girls,hehehe.

With Dymae's "male" version,hehehe.But she doesn't look like a man at all,hehehe.

Ok, that's all for now coz they might get mad at me for posting our photos, hehehe. Our whereabouts on sunday will be featured in my next post.

I'm back!!

Yeheyyyyy, I'm back safely from Denmark, thanks GOD for the safe trip. And I'm so glad to be blogging again.I really miss my blogs and I'm so excited to make new entries.

Thanks a lot to my blogging friends who visited me here constantly, though there are no new entries to read. I'll try my best to cover up,.I was so tired yesterday, so I was not able to make a new entry.Though my mind was very excited to make a post lastnight, but my body was just so tired from the very long trip...huhuhu.the details will be in my next post.

Have a nice day everyone!

I'm leaving on a Bus!

Yessss,I'm leaving on a bus (not leaving on a jetplane, hehehe)tomorrow night (10pm) for Denmark.I'm gonna visit my hostfamily there as well as Daymae,my first cousin who already work for my hostfamily in Denmark now.

I'm travelling with my bestfriend and cousin Bhing tomorrow, hehehe,I have a lot of cousins and my employers are really confused about it,hehehe. It will be my first visit since I left last January and I'm really excited to see them all. They are also looking forward to see me, so I'm really happy.

My other first cousin Analyn (in my father side) will also arrive in Denmark on Saturday to also work as an Au pair. Her employer will pick us up at the bus terminal and then we will drive to the airport to pick my cousin up..Analyn (I call her inday delyn) and I went to the same school for 2 years (3rd and 4th yr) in high school and stayed in our home in the duration of the studies, so we're really close. And it's gonna be a reunion of some sort because Bhing is also excited to see Analyn since we we're also classmates before and they havn't seen each other for nearly 3 years now...

I'll just tell you about my trip when I come back on Monday. I don't have work on Monday coz it's a holiday here.So sorry guys, it means that I can't post here in my blog for 3 days.I wont be bringing my lappy, but I'll try to use the desktop of my employer in Denmark and try to post, but if not, then see you all again this coming Monday.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Nahanaw nga Pagbati

Here's another "balak" from yours truly.I wrote this one last April, just for fun. This is for all the men I loved before, ahehehe. I just want them to know the way I feel. And my emotion for each one of them will be best described in a line of a certain song that goes " I still remember the boy, but not the feelings anymore". hahahaha, that's it....I already said it all!!

Dili ko man gusto i sibya apan pasensya na

Spiderman 2

(Photo grabbed from amazon.co.uk)

I like Spiderman 2 as much as Spiderman 1 and Spiderman 3. The movie is really great and been taking down notes of inspiring lines in the movie,.Been rewinding it many times just to catch the exact words coz it's really inspiring.I'm not really interested with Spiderman before because I thought it's only for kids. But right after seeing Spiderman 1 a month ago, I was really wrong about my idea coz the movie is just for all age group.

Here are some of the inspiring lines from the movie:

"Intelligence is not a privelege; it's gift and it should be used for the good of mankind". - delivered by Dr. Octopus before he became a monster.

" I believe there's a hero in all of us that keeps us honest, gives us strength, makes us noble and finally allows us to die with pride" - by Aunt Ida during their packing to tranfer to her new apartment.

"Sometimes to do what's right, we have to be steady. We have to give up the things we want the most, even our dreams". - delivered by Spiderman to Dr. Octopus. It's really very true.

And one more quote from Dr. Octopus (before he became a monster) for Peter Parker in one of their meetings: "Love should never be a secret".

Nice Wednesday

I had nice day today. I'm not that busy in my employer's place.I just vacuumed the floor, made some laundry and some ironing. While ironing,I called my friend in Stavanger (a place in Norway situated in the country side). Her name is Ellen and I call her Ate though our gap is just 1 year (that's how respectful I am). She's from Davao and she also worked as an au pair in Denmark for 2 years and we are really buddies. I called her to listen to some updates about her date,. I have her a textmate months ago. My neighbor and schoolmate. He's already working as a seafarer and it happens that their ship docked in Stavanger, so they met on Monday. Too bad, the date was a disaster,. The guy was so shy and would only speak to Ate when asked.grrrrrrrrrr..Not our type of guy.....So no more textmates for that guy coz I don't want my friends to blame me,aheheheh.

I made fried rice for dinner and glad coz they loved it. After my duty, I prayed the Holy Rosary then I did jogging-in-place for about 15 minutes.I'm in a hurry coz I want to continue watching Spiderman 2,.I started watching the movie this afternoon during my freetime and finally I'm done watching it.Yeheyyyy thanks once again to my cousin for the link. I like Spiderman 2 too.I'm glad coz I already watched all spiderman movies. I saw Spiderman 1 a month ago...sorry I'm not updated with movies coz it's really expensive here....

Goodnight everyone!

Spiderman 3

(Photo grabbed from telebisyon.no-ip.info)

After hearing a lot of good reviews about Spiderman 3, I wanted too watch the movie too. But I didn't go to the movie house coz it's really very expensive here,. And I don't want to spend a lot of money in just one movie coz I know that there are still other ways to view it on a cheaper cost,. And I'm sooo glad that I waited coz I was able to watch the movie for free..lucky me!!

I really love the movie. I learned a lot of lessons from it. One is the love for family. No matter what happens, but blood is always thicker than water.

And there's also a lesson about friendship. You will always know who you're real friends are during times of difficulties and I was really touched when Harry Osborn says that "he's gonna die for his friends".

Another lesson is about forgiveness. No matter how bad a person becomes, but he will always realize his mistakes and ask for forgiveness to start renewing himself. We have to ask forgiveness and forgive those who sinned against us.And we always turn to GOD for guidance and help.

And of course, there's a lesson about true love.True love that endures despite the problems and it certainly conquers all barriers. I'm falling inlove for Peter Parker....

And the lines that I can't forget from the movie delivered by Peter Parker (Toby Maguire), which will always inspire me:

"We always have a choice and it's the choices that makes us who we are. We can always choose to do what's right."

Hurrahhhhh, thanks to my cousin in Denmark (the one who replaced me in my hostfamily in Denmark) for the link and I was able to watch Spiderman 3 for free. The link is here, so try to visit it. For sure, there are movies there that you want to watch too.

You can also get your visual DNA at www.imagini.net  then i share pod sa imong blogs pra makahibawo mi,ahehhehe.

Have a nice tuesday everyone!

I'm very Happy

I received a text message from my Mama yesterday, informing me about the result of my medical check up. I had a medical check up in the Philippines during my vacation last November 2006. I had the test last January, few days before my departure for Norway. And I was so upset because the doctor recommended for me to take another test to know the level of my illness. I'm sorry, but I can't mention the name of my illness coz I don't want you to be scared, but don't worry coz it's not an STD or something, ahhehhe.

I took the test in Cebu and they told us that we can get the result after a month since the blood sample will be sent to Manila for examination. So I went back to Europe with the fears of what might be result.

The result was already available, but my Mama had no time to go to Cebu until recently because she's also taking summer classes. So she finally had the time to bring the result to the doctor for interpretation and the doctor said that there's nothing to worry about because I don't have to undergo medication since my illness is inactive. The illness is already in my blood, but it's not progressing.

Thanks GOD for answering my prayer and my family's prayers too. I'm really very happy right now, as well as my entire family for the result and I just can't stop giving thanks to GOD for it. May GOD be praised at all times.

Have a blessed tuesday everyone!

Kas,Turkey - Summer of 2005

I arrived in Denmark on November 2004 and my hostfamily took me to Kas,Turkey in the summer of 2005.And I was there for pure vacation,as in no work at all and all expenses paid by them and they even gave me a pockey money. They're really very kind and generous. I didn't look after the daughter of my employer. I was really a real tourist that time, hehehe.

My hostfamily were already in Kas for 1 week and then I flew on the 2nd week together with my female employer's parents (I'm very close to them, they're like my grandparents) to Kas. We flew from Copenhagen airport to Dalaman and took the long bus ride to Kas. I was really panting, as we arrived in Kas. I got difficulty breathing because of the heat (maybe because my system has already adopted the cold weather in Denmark), but good thing and I felt better the following day (my body had adjusted to the hot weather right away).

I had my own room with 2 beds and i tried to convince my employer's daughter to stay with me,but she didn't like it,hehehe. We had the same routine everyday. Free breakfast in the hotel's lobby up to 8 or 9am (not so sure anymore) and sometimes my employer's father has to phone me in my room because they're afraid that i'll miss breakfast because I always wake up late, hehehe. Then after brekfast, we stayed in the pool, sunbathing. But I don't really need to sunbath anymore, coz I'm already dark and I really hate the heat. It's turning me into a "roasted pig",hehehe. You know in the Philippines, we always use umbrella to protect us from the rays of the sun and we use whitening lotion in the hope of making our skins lighter. And there I was, exposing my skin under the heat of the blazing sun, huhuhuh. And I told my employers about it and they found it funny, because they wanted to have a darker skin like mine...very ironic, hehehe. And while in the pool, I read Harry Potter and the Order of Phoenix (my male employer bought it for me coz he knew that I'm a HP fan). And after maybe an hour or less, I'll always excuse myself and went to my room and doze off, hehehe. They always made fun out of my love for sleeping.

Then during the evenings,we always dine in restaurants. I really love the food there (it's not a new thing coz I just love any kind of food),hehehe. Humus there was excellent and it was my first time to eat lamb meat,it was really delicious and it was during the birthday of my male employer (he celebrated his natal day there).

I think it was our 3rd night in Turkey (or 4th night, not sure), I got drunk, heheh.Yesss because my employer's father order a small bottle of white wine or ladies drink (can't remember already) and he kept on pouring my glass until the bottle was empty. And when we went back to the hotel, they observed that I was already groggy and had difficulty balancing, hehehe and my employer's mother was really very angry to her husband for getting me drunk. I woke up very late the following day and they made fun about me getting drunk, heheheh.

We also went sailing for one day ans it was really fantastic. And other funny episode happened. My female employer bought swimming wings for me (not sure if it's the right term though), but what I mean is the thing that the children put in their arms so they can float in the water. Yes I had those as well as my employer's daughter. And so we went swimming as the boat stopped in the nearby island. The water was really very clear. And I hopped into the water and the people in the other bought were laughing because I had the wings, when it's only intended for children, hahaha.I find it funny too, but what can I do??I don't know how to swim. And my employer told me that maybe it's better for me to take swimming lessons.Good idea! And then my employers and her father dived because it was also a diving spot. And suddenly my employer.s father shouted "shark", so they swam hurriedly back to the boat while I nervously swam back into the boat, but as if I'm not moving and then my employer's father announced that it was just a shark statue to entertain the divers.OHHH myyyy it almost gave me a heart attack!!grrrrrrrrrrr and we we're really having a good laugh about it.

Ohhh my this post is already very long but I'm just carried away to share the entire story, hehhee.Too bad and I can't share pictures here coz I don't have a digicam that time but I took pictures with my old camera and the photos are already in the Philippines. I'll ask my Mama to scan it one day for me. I have one pic scanned though(i asked my Columbian friend to scan it for me), so it's the only one I can share to you right now.

Taken in one of our dinners with my hostfamily and their parents.

On our way home to Denmark, we encountered a 10-minute turbulence and I was really scared because it was my first time to encounter such, huhuhuh. But thanks GOD and we landed safely in Copenhagen airport and here I am blogging about it,hehehe.Anyways, I really enjoyed my vacation in Turkey and I'm really grateful to my hostfamily in Denmark for treating me as part of their family up to these days.

Have a nice day everyone.

    Tuba

Here's another "balak" of mine.It was composed last year.
    Hope you'll enjoy this one,hehehe.
Dedicated to my favorite "tuba"..basta kanang tam-is,di ko ug bahal kay aslum, ahehehe.

    Tuba

Ohh ilimnon nga gikan sa lubing bantugan,
ang imong kalami gihandum sa adlaw nga tanan.
    Ilimnon nga gikan sa sugong,
ang imong kalami di gayod makabong.

    Matam-is kaman o mabahal,

    Gawad Kalinga

As promised, here's a detailed information about Gawad Kalinga (GK). It's taken from www.gawadkalinga.com.

Gawad Kalinga (GK) translated in English means to “to give care”, and it is an alternative solution to the blatant problem of poverty not just in the Philippines but in the world. GK’s vision for the Philippines is a slum-free, squatter-free nation through a simple strategy of providing land for the landless, homes for the homeless, food for the hungry and as a result providing dignity and peace for every Filipino.

What started in 1995 as a daring initiative by Couples for Christ to rehabilitate juvenile gang members and help out-of-school youth in Bagong Silang, Caloocan City, then the biggest squatters’ relocation area in the Philippines, has now evolved into a movement for nation-building. Together with its partners, Gawad Kalinga is now in the process of transforming poverty stricken areas with the goal of building 700,000 homes in 7,000 in 7 years (2003-2010). To date Gawad Kalinga is in over 900 communities all over the Philippines and in other developing countries. (establish link to GK ABROAD, write-ups on GK Communities outside the Philippines)

Gawad Kalinga is more than about building houses for the poorest of the poor. Providing a decent home is just the beginning of the transformation of the people and the community.

I really believe in GK's motto : "Less for self, more for others, enough for all".

Let us all support GK to restore our beloved Philippines!

    The Little Mermaid

When I was still a child, I only heard about "The Little Mermaid". I neither know the real story, nor the author. It was already during my Au pair years in Denmark that I was able to know that the Statue of The Little Mermaid is in Copenhagen and that the author is Danish, Hans Christian Andersen. I'm sure some of you would laugh at me because I knew about the story and the informations that goes with it very late in life, but atleast I'm still able to know about it,hehehe.

    (photo grabbed from www.about.com)

The Little Mermaid statue in the shore of Copenhagen,Denmark is the national symbol of the country. Just like Eiffel Tower in Paris and the Statue of Liberty in New York. And I'm very glad that I was able to visit it last September 2006 before I went home for vacation in the Philippines.

Here's a summary info about The Little Mermaid Statue courtesy of www.about.com :

The Little Mermaid statue is only a 10-minute walk from the cruise ship pier in Copenhagen. At less than five feet tall, the statue is much smaller than most people expect, and she sits on a rock near the shore, not in the middle of the harbor.
Hans Christian Andersen wrote "The Little Mermaid" fairy tale in 1837, and in 1909 the founder of Carlsberg Breweries, who was fascinated by the story, had the statue built.

The Little Mermaid statue has sat on her boulder since August 23, 1913, but has had a very turbulent life, with at least eight vandalism attacks. She has been dowsed in paint numerous times, had her right arm amputated, been decapitated three times, and even pushed from her rock in 2003. Fortunately, the sculptor made a mold, so the Little Mermaid's "parts" have been reattached from the original mold.

And here are some photos of The Little Mermaid Statue, courtesy of yours truly :

The photos really show that I'm not a professional photographer, hehehe plus we went there at noon, so the sun was shining which makes it more difficult for me to take better pictures.

Taken by my friend, Ate Evelyn.

Officials of Copenhagen want to move the 1.6 metre (5.5 ft) statue several meters offshore to make it more difficult for people to reach it, so as to secure the statue in a better way without ruining the whole concept of having her sitting on a rock in the water. It's just a natural way of protecting the statue from vandalism and other form of destruction.

    My Travel Blog

For those who don't know yet, I made a new blog a month ago, but I just opened it for public viewing last week. It's a blog that will feature all my travels and vacations, hehehe (as if I had a lot of them) and all things related to travel.

I made the blog for "raket" purposes, hehehe. So I decided to also post here all the entries that I'm going to post their about my travels so you don't have to go their anymore because I know that you're very busy and I might be consuming much of your time if I'll ask you once more to go there, hehehe.I'll just maintain another set of friends there.

    A Mother's Love

I think every child thinks that their mother is the best Mom in the world and so am I. For me, my Mama Luz is the "Best Mother in the whole world" and I just wanted to make this post as a tribute to her.

I'm really very thankful to GOD and very proud for having my Mama as my mother. She has an irreplaceable place in my heart and I just love her very very much. I created a digiscrap for her a few months ago and I just wanted to share it with you. Here it is:

My Mama was hit by cupid's arrow at a young age of 21 and she gave birth to me in the same year of their marriage. She has been to a lot of difficulties and struggles in raising us and I'm so proud that she stood at my father's side and continued to nurture us with her unconditional love, until now.

I'm really close to my Mama.I tell her all my secrets, including lovelife.ahehehe.Sometimes, naiinis na ang brother ko kasi sabi nya kahit mga walang kwentang bagay sini-share ko pa raw sa Mama ko.aheheh.

I'm really trying to describe my Mama in this post, but it seems that adjectives are not enough. There's a lot of emotions, but I just can't put them into words.Ang dami ko talagang naiisip tungkol sa Mama ko pero ang hirap ipaliwanag..Siguro nga sadyang ganyan...di kayang ipaliwanag ng mga salita ang kabutihan at kadakilaan ng isang Ina.

    To my Mama :

To all my mother friends, I really admire you for sacrificing your careers and choosing to be full-time mothers. You are all great. Once again :

    A Replica of Noah's Ark

Have you already heard about the replica of Noah's Ark? I was really thinking that maybe I'm the only one who doesn't know about it..huhuhu..what a shame..

Kindly visit my new blog for the full story. Thank you and have a nice day.

Paraiso : The Gawad Kalinga Movie

Paraiso is a new filipino movie with 3 different episodes. The movie is based on a true story. Stories of people who benifited from the Gawad Kalinga (GK) program of the Couples for Christ (CFC) Ministry as well as people who shared their talents and treasures in building GK sites. I'll talk about GK in detailed in my next post.

The movie will be shown in different areas of the world where there are CFC communities. In fact, I already have a ticket for it because we have our showing here in Norway this coming Saturday. The actors and actresses in the movie worked for free and the entire earnings for the movie will be donated to GK for building more communities. I'm really happy that there are already a lot of people supporting GK.

I'm also encouraging all of you to please watch the movie (if it's already showing in your place) so we can also have our share in the building of more GK communities for our less fortunate brothers and sisters in the Philippines.

Some actors and actresses in the movie are Cesar Montano, Maricel Soriano, Michael V. and Carmi Martin. Here's the thriller:

    Enjoy watching!

    Walang Kapalit

wheewwww I just had a 2-hour sleep because of the new teleserye, Walang Kapalit. I arrived from my weekend last night at around 8pm and I was a little bit wet because it was raining and I ws also freezing because I didn't bring my jacket because the weather was so nice last friday. I had a great weekend with my friends, but mo pictures this time, hehehe. My bestfriend and I attended a gathering at the church with the CFC Coupples for Christ) ministry and we really had a nice day there.

After arriving in my apartment, I checked my e-mails and my blogs. And then "walang kapalit" just popped unto my mind as it was featured in the blogs of my friends. So I logged in to youtube and typed the title of the teleserye. And there were a lot results and so I looked at the pilot episode and started watching it.I really liked the story that I was not able to stop, hehehe.I told myself that I'm going to bed at 12midnight, but I just wanted to watch the next episode because it was already very excting and thrilling so I just continued until it's already 4 in the morning and I finally decided to go to bed..gravehhhh aju gani kay wako ma late..pero as usual, I still sleepy right now.huhuhuh. And I was done watching til May 3, so I still have a long way to go to be able to catch up with the latest episode.

That's all for now coz I still have to go back to my employer's place. Nisaliat ra jud ko ug naog sa apartment after removing the falling leaves outside. I have to check the eldest kid because she is home with me due to stomach ache.
