New vacuum

My employer is about to buy a new vacuum because the small one is already destroyed. They have 2 vacuums. The big one which I always use during my general cleaning and the small one that's supposed to be use in vacuuming little dust and the bread crumbs that fall from the table during eating. But I'm not using it anymore because it's no longer working.Sometimes it works, but most of the time it's not working. And my employer found out about it lastweek and told me that he's going to buy a new one,a nice one because the small vacuum was not so good since it was so cheap when he bought it.

I'm going to tell him to buy a Miele vacuum because I looked at their site and they are offering good quality vacuums.I just hope that they have a shop here in Norway.

Back from d weekend

Hi everyone! Hope you had a nice weekend. I had a great one with my cousins and my friends. I spent my weekend at Ate Eves' place and Best, Lisa (my cousin who just arrived from Denmark),Ate Mafe and Ate Minang were also there. We really had a great time talking about a lot of things, mostly drama moments about our lives,hehehe. And we also had a magic-sing moments.As in, we've been singing the entire weekend and ate filipino foods.

I did attend the SFC General Assembly (GA) with Best and Ella (our friend who just joined the community lastweek on Friday evening. It was really fun because there were a lot of SFC's present and our ever supportive Nanays and Tatays were also there.

We attended the 6pm Mass at St. Olav today and I went home directly after the Mass. Ohhhh what a shame, but I did borrow one of Ate Eves' winter boots because I went out on Friday wearing Sandals because I thought it will be sunny the entire weekend because the weather was nice on Friday. But on Saturday, it was very windy and raining so bad. Next time, I'm no longer going out without my winter boots and jacket.

business talk

Everytime I talk with my friends on the net, especially my friends who are also working abroad, we always end up talking about business because it's really nice to have a little business back home. All of us don't wanna work abroad for the rest of our lives and especially us au pairs, we don't wanna work as au pairs forever. So business is really a nice venture. Some of the businesses we talked about were internet cafe business, eatery, cellphone shop, sari-sari store, and agri store. But Norwegian husband of our friend suggested real estate and said that it's really a good investment. However, it needs a big capital and I can't afford it as of this moment. But maybe in the coming years, I can already afford it. Hopefully!

Yesss!!It was really a relieve that my au pair visa renewal is already under processing. As I told you in my post the other day, I'm preparing for my visa renewal. I went to Baerum Kommune to file my papers yesterday, but unfortunately, the office is close every Wednesday. What a bad luck!! And I'm already a little bit scared since the renewal should be done 1 month before (it says in the papers), but I only had barely 20 days left of my visa. Grrrrrrrr. I did go to the office this morning and there were a lot of people in queue there, as usual!I arrived at 10 in the morning and got entertained at 12 noon.Whoahhhhh 2 hours of waiting!!I thought waiting for so long only happens in Pinas, but it's here too. The personnel there were not really in a hurry as I observed and my female employer had the same observation the first time we went there. The personnels were taking coffee breaks even if they're still someone on the counter. They disappear and return after several minutes.

My employer didn't sign a new au pair contract (only an application) and the presonnel asked for it, so I was depress coz I thought that I'm going back once more to have contract. Thanks GOD and she accepted the papers and processed it and then she said that my employer can fax the contract as soon as possible. I took a new contract home and my employer will fax it tomorrow.Thanks GOD and I don't have to worry about my visa now.

Ok everyone, I'm going to bed now coz I have a general cleaning to do tomorrow. I wanted to start early so I can have my off early and devote the rest of the day for blogging tomorrow.hehehe.

for the love of reading

Reading is really my ultimate hobby. I really love reading since my childhood years. I learned how to read in an early age and thanks to my ever great teacher, my beloved Mama. She told me that I used to read anything I see when I was still a child, but I didn't remember it anymore,hehehe. Though I love to read, but I havn't read a lot of children's books before due to poverty,huhuhuh. Sooo sad,we don't have Cinderella and other fairy tale books at home, my parents just can't afford it during that time. But despite that fact, I was still able to read a lot. I read the books
I got from school, the mini-Bible that our parents bought for me and my brother and other books that we have at home. And I just don't flip the pages, I read every page,hehehe. That was when I was still younger, I don't want to skip a page of what I'm reading.

I remember an incident with my cousin when I was still in Manila applying for a job. I visited her house in Antipolo and spent some days there. She has a lot of magazine, so I kept on reading them and she commented on the way I read. This were her words "grabe ka naman magbasa talang binabasa mo every page,ako pictures lang tinitingnan ko",heheheh.

And it's really one of my dreams to have a library at home. I wanted to buy fairy tale books that I didn't have during my childhood,books,novels and other reading materials. I already have some novels from my favorite authors Stephen King, John Grisham, Ken Follett, Robin Cook, Tom Clancy and many more.And I wanted to buy more.

Hi everyone!!Ohhh my I'm so bloated at this very moment. I'm so full!!grrrrrrrrrr.I went to Baerum Kommune to renew my au pair contract and then I was very hungry when I arrived here in my apartment. So, I opened the fridge and look for something to eat. There's some potato salad, so I ate it all (a big bowl) and then after an hour I went to my employer's house to prepare dinner. I made pancit for dinner and then I also ate with them. I only ate a little portion, but until now I'm still bloated and my stomach is really very full. As if I'm carrying heavy luggage.Hayyyyyyyyyyyy,dieting is always in my mind...everyday.but it seems that I'm always a failure.grrrrrrrrrr

A conversation with my family

Hurrah!!I'm sooooo happy today coz I was able to talk to my family back home. I called Mama and my brother right after coming from the City coz it's been a long while that I havn't talked to them. I always send them text messages but they're not replying. Mama is so busy right now because she's going to attend the provincial Science fair because her research entitled "The effectivity of Lirio Plant in Controlling Kuhol" won 2nd prize in the district level, so it's one of the entries for the Provincial Science fair. I'm so happy hearing their voices and with all the updated back home.

My Mama is going to the City tomorrow (Sept. 26), I think she's already on the bus. God Bless Ma and have a safe trip.

visa matters

hi everyone!I was off very early today (around 10am) because I just did some dusting and arranging in my employer's place since I already did major cleaning yesterday. And no need to cook today since the kids are going to their friends.

My male employer is off to the US since Saturday and he'll be home on Friday. So it's only my female employer and the kids. My female employer called me earlier (around 9am) and told me that the email she received from the UDI (the department where I'm going to renew my au pair contract) says that we have to renew it 1 month before the expiration and I only have 20 days left.So I was upset coz I already told them months before about the renewal but she only mentioned it this week.

I went to the city at around 12 noon to have a rush ID picture. I had 4 pcs. before but I already used it during the renewal of my passport before. I had 2 more sets but it's no good coz my eyes were closed. It was taken from the photo machine on the street and I did it for 2 times, but to no avail, my eyes were still close. Grrrrrrrrrr I wasted a lot of money for it due to my "katangahan" coz I didn't follow the instruction..grrrrrrr.

I'm going to Baerum Kommune tomorrow to make my renewal and I'll go alone coz my employer is very busy. By the way, we did go to Baerum Kommune last week but I didn't bring all the necessary papers and there were a lot of people on queue and my employer don't want to wait for long coz she still has to work. So we went home without making the renewal.

I hope I'll be successful tomorrow. Pray for me guys.

cold and cough

Happy monday everone!hope you are doing great outthere! As for me, I am suffering from cold and cough,huhuhuhu. Everytime the weather changes from warm to cold, then I always get sick, even during my Denmark days. And the situation worsen because I went out last weekend with only a vest coz I the weather was nice and I thought it would last for the entire weekend. Lastnight, it was so windy and I felt so cold and I didn't bring a scarf to protect my throat. And now, my throat is also aching,huhuhu. It was been aching for 2 weeks now. I think it was due to all the sweet things I ate during my Best's birthday and worsen by the cold weather.

I walked my "alaga" to school and I went here in my apartment for a while before starting cleaning my employer's place.

Scuba diving

My Tiyo (my mother's younger bro) has been a scuba diver before he finally decides to come home to Bohol and be a farmer. He has been to the Military first and then to Scuba Diving in the hope of working in Cebu, a place much closer to home. To his dismay, he was assigned in Manila once more and decided to come home to Bohol for good.

The family was very happy about his homecoming and everytime we go to the beach, Tiyo would always bring his scuba diving equipments. A weekend with the youth

Hi everyone! I hope you had a great weekend. I just arrived here in my apartment from a wonderful weekend with the youth - the YFC (Youth for Christ). I was not able to blog on friday before leaving because I left early and in a hurry to be with the YFC on their back-to-back activity in Mariaholm, Norway. They're having a youth camp and a SHOUT activity at the same time.

3 from the SFC were choosen to be part of the service team and among the lucky ones were Ate Mabel, Jasmin and myself. I was not able to go to the SFC Discovery weekend held in Mariaholm 2 weeks ago, so I was my oppurtunity to visit the place. I'm really happy that I went there because the place is very nice - a peaceful place by the sea. It's a retreat house and the CFC community is frequently using it.

It was really a wonderful weekend with the youth, feeling ko young ulit ako,hehehe. As in na loka at natuwa ako sa kakulitan nila,heheh. And there were other nationalities as well (mexican-norwrgian, norwegian, African) and the SHOUT activity was a joint activity of YFC's from the Nordic countries (Norway,Denmark,Iceland,Sweden and Finland). We the service team were the one incharge in preparing their food and we were staying most of the time in the kitchen. So it means that we are always full coz we're eating all the time,hehehe. And I really had a good time with the Titos and Titas. Especially with the "nakaka nerbs" na mga tito,hehehhe. Naloka talaga ako sa kakatawa!Di ko akalain na sa mga edad nilang yon ang mga kalog ever pa rin sila,hehehe. Ate Mabel,jasmin and I shared a room, so I got to know them better. Of course, di nawala ang picture2x sa magndang mga tanawin but I'm gonna post it later kasi di ko pa na upload.

I really did miss my YFC community in the Philippines way back 2003-2004. Hope to have more bonding times with the youth and more service to come.

Exercise

Yeheyyyyyy, atlast I'm able to exercise again!What a relieve! I had been exrcising for almost 2 months now by jogging in place and dancing here in my apartment. But 2 weeks ago, I stopped it because I had my monthly period (sorry for the mention) and I was too lazy to move. And just last week, my mind is really very eager to get back to exercising, but my lazy body is not cooperating as usual. Today, I really decided to outwit my body with my goal and thanks heavens coz I was successful. I played gwen stefani and nelly furtado's music and started jogging and then danced later on. And I was really sweating a lot and been moving with the beat for more than an hour. I'm really feeling very good right now.

Hope that I can maintain the routine and I'll try my very best not to give in to my laziness anymore.

No other choice coz the fridge is almost empty. I'm a little bit tired today coz I went to sleep at around 1am. Been reading articles about the bigotry of Malu Fernandez and I'm sooo mad about it. Wowww,there's a new reality show that interests me. With the title itself, Ultimate Survival, it already sounds interesting and a must-see TV show. Since my Denmark days, I'm really into reality TV shows because people from different walks of life are participating and all actions and happenings are genuine. No choreography, whatsoever!

A good Samaritan

As I mentioned earlier in my post, It was raining lastnight when I came home from my weekend getaway. I went to church with my bestfriend and my other friends and attended the 6 pm Mass at St. Olav, then I went home right after mass. I stopped for awhile in the bus stop to change my boots with my rubber shoes, so I can walk faster to my apartment. I don't have an umbrella, so my clothes were already a little bit wet. And suddenly a car stopped and so I looked at the direction and a little bit scared. But I saw an old lady on the wheel and telling me to get into the car. And I realized that she's giving me a lift. Wowww how nice of her to offer a lift to me. She asked me some questions when I was already inside her car and told me that she always give a lift to ladies with a lot of baggages (I had 2 big bags with me). I thanked her many times and asked for her name. Her name is Barbra and she lives just few blocks from my employer's place and she told me that she used to take my male employer to school before.

God is really good all the time. Thanks for the lift Barbra,may God bless you all the time.

Yesss,I just arrive here in my apartment and I'm done with my work for today. I'm still full right now from our dinner. I made chicken with cocosmilk and vegetables and I'm glad coz the kids love it. My female employer also observed that the kids are starting to like the filipino foods that I'm making. They're not complaining anymore,hurrah!!

I'm planning to make some exercise, but I'll just do it later. I'll find something else to do because the site where I usually watch teleseryes and movies is down for weeks now,huhuhhu. So I don't have entertainment at the moment. Sooo sad!

it's work time again!

Happy monday everyone!It's work time again and I'm still very sleepy here. I spent my weekend with my bestfriend and my friends because we celebrated my Best's 26th Birthday on Saturday (September 15). We had a small gathering on saturday night with delicious filipino food and a videoke moment with friends. We really had fun, but then we decided to go to the disco to have more fun,hehehe. So we did at around 11pm and the disco ended at 3am and we finally arrived home at 5am because we waited for long for the "natbus" (nightbus) to take us home. We were very hungry, so we ate first before dozing off. I woke up early, but Best was already cleaning the place when I woke up. She's really an early bird all the time. We went to church at 5 pm for the 6pm Mass and I headed home right after the Mass. It was raining lastnight and I went to bed at around 10pm, but I am still sleepy despite the 8-hour sleep I had.

One of my friends is going home to Bohol this December and she lives in the neighboring town from my family. So I'm thinking of sending something for my Mama and my family back home through her because she voluntarily said it to me.I'm planning of buying a digicam for my family back home, so they can easily take pictures. During my vacation, I gave my olympus camera (not digi) to my Mama, though we already have one at home. But still I want to give them a digicam, so it will be much easier to take photos.

I already started looking for digital cameras
on sale so I can really send one home this December. I'll keep you posted if I already found a good one.

I just wanna talk about my Mama's love for music. She comes from a musically-inclined family, but unfortunately, I didn't inherit the genes....my brother did. Though I love music, but I didn't have Mama's golden voice and the skills of playing musical instruments. I even have the difficulty of singing in tune,hehehe. My Mama knows how to play the guitar, as well as my brother. And just about a year ago, Mama bought an organ. She really wants to buy a piano and practice playing the instrument, but then piano is expensive. Maybe later, she can finally have it. I want to give it to her as a gift.

I found a Piano Chords Blog today and instantly thought of Mama. For sure she'll be glad to visit the blog and learn more about piano stuffs. I'll tell her to visit the blog once we'll have internet connection at home.

It's really a depressing fact that drugs are all over the globe now. and too bad because the users are getting younger as years pass by. There are already a lot of reported cases wherein the drug victims or users were still very young. Drug addiction causes violence too. Many crimes had been triggered by drug addiction especially when the users are high, they tend to do crimes and claim that they don't know what they're doing.

I think it's better if every community will have a drug rehabilitation center. However, people might think that the community is in favor of drug addiction because they are readily providing a rehabilitation center. But one should not think like that. If the society can't stop drug addiction, atleast they can help the victims find their old self again.

next projects

My next project for my family back home is to have a computer with an internet connection, so I can talk with them more often. and I realized that it's less expensive that way compare if I'll always buy calling cards, which are very expensive here. I already told my brother to inquire about the installation of the landline phone,so we can proceed with the next step when it's already installed.I'm really excited to have the computer at home and my Mama,bro and entire family is also very excited because they wanted to know and explore more about computer and internet stuffs. I hope we can have the computer with the internet connection before Mama's birthday on October 31.

Then, next in line is to purchase nice and presentable ceiling fans for our living room, kitchen and 3 bedrooms. The bedrooms have ceiling fans already, but they were only temporary and we bought them cheap in the sidewalk store. This time, we want to have the classy type for permanent use.

Hi everyone!I hope you are all doing fine.
It's monday and I'm back to work again.I just finished cleaning my employer's place.Good thing and it's not that messy,except for the kids' rooms.Their toys are all over the floor :lego blocks,miniture horses,animal masks,puzzle pieces,playing cards,etc.It took me long in cleaning their rooms.

I also changed the bedsheets,did some laundry,dusting,vacuuming and mopping the floor.And finally I'm done and I'll take a nap today because I went to bed late (almost 1am already) because I finished the novel by Ken Folett entitled "Dangerous Fortune".The story is really nice and I can't put the novel down though my eyes were already aching.Good and I'm done reading it,I can finally take a nap,heheeh.

girl talk

When I'm not babysitting on weekends,I usually spend my weekend with my friends who are also working as an au pair.Today,I miss them very much because it's already 2 weeks that I havn't seen them.I miss the "girl talk" with them. When I'm with them,I can always talk about anything :serious stuffs,naughty,funny,guys..anything under the sun,hehehe.And as the chatting progresses,it will always end in topics such as guys and engagements.We're all hoping to have a family of our own and the discussion about proposal,engagement rings are always talked about.And everyone is talking about diamond rings and hoping and dreaming to have one as an angagement ring.

I miss all of you girls and hope to see you this coming weekend.

babysitting

Hi everyone!It's saturday and I'm babysitting once again.My employers went to a 40th birthday of their friend,so I have to take care of the kids and for sure they're going home very eary...as in early in the morning,hehehhe.

The kids are still in the neighbor playing with the kids.So I'm still alone here in the house.I'm watching TV and scanning the channels for a good show.I stopped for a while to see a show featuring radar detectors.I hope there will be nice shows in the TV later in the evening so I won't get bored while waiting for my employers to come home.

general cleaning

Yesss,I'm always having a general cleaning in my employer's house every friday and that means that I did it yesterday.I was done cleaning at around 2 o'clock.I find cleaning easy especially in my employer's place because they are so arranged with their things.Though it gets messy at times,but at least they are not the type of people who are just so careless about their things.

The only thing I find difficult to clean are the Blinds.I really hate cleaning them because it took me hours to finish.Good thing and I don't have to clean them every week.

my childhood friend

I just remember my childhood friend today.He's also my classmate from grade 2 up to high school.He came into our place and lived under the care of his uncle who's a co-teacher of my mother.

My older cousins would always teased us as lovers and I got so mad since we're still very young that time. I can still remember clearly that he will always sing the famous jollibee jingle "i love you jollibee", but he's saying my name instead of jollibee,that was really cute!

I went to college in another place and I havn't heard about him anymore.I think it was in my 2nd yer college,I went home for vacation and I heard the news that my childhood friend had passed away due to drug addiction.I was really shocked about the news.If only he had a drug treatment for sure he won't end up that way.

Wherever you are now my dear friend,you'll always be remembered and cherished.May your soul rest in peace.

Remembering Papa

Today is Papa's 6th death anniversary (September 7).It's been years after his tragic death,but it seems to me that he just left us yesterday.He's always in my mind everyday and I'll never forget Papa and the care and love he has given me and my family.Even if he's not physically with us anymore, I know that he's always watching us,taking care of us and loving us dearly.

I'm asking all of you my dear friends to pray for the soul of my father dear,Julito.May the Good LORD give him eternal life and allow him to enter the Kingdom HE has prepared for all of us.

Hi everyone,I hope you had a nice weekend.
Mine was spent entirely in the confine of my apartment.Though my employers were away to St. Tropez, but I decided to stay home because most of my friends were babysitting in the weekend and one more thing, I had an extra job on Saturday in the neighbor.

The weather was soo nice the entire weekend, but I was just in the apartment surfing the net,watching teleseryes and movies..but didn't do any blogging at all....what a guilt!

And the main guilt feeling occured on Sunday.I was getting ready to attend the 6pm Sunday mass.After I took a bath and got dressed,I chatted with someone from home and then at 5pm,started to get ready once again.Then I decided to water the flower bed first and then the hose was not working,so I tried to fixed itSeeing the time,so I left the hose unfixed and I was really hurrying and running towards the bus stop, and just few meters away,I saw the bus passed the bus stop. Grrrrrrrrrr I missed the bus and the next one will be at 6:04pm,so it means that I'll be very late since the travel from my apartment to church is almost 30 minutes.

I know it was completely my fault.I hope that GOD will forgive me.
